Wolfe Tone Court in Laois completed a €950,000 energy upgrade, retrofitting homes to achieve an A1 BER rating. Funded primarily through grants from the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, the project included installing triple-glazed windows, heat pumps, and comprehensive insulation.

The community, established in 2003, has housed nearly 100 residents, providing a safe living environment. Residents now enjoy enhanced comfort and energy efficiency, with new ventilation systems eliminating the need to open windows. The committee is considering adding a generator for the community hall to prepare for potential power outages.
