SIA 'Enersense' is set to build a 100 MW battery energy storage system with a capacity of 200 MWh in Grobiņa parish, Latvia. The project, commissioned by 'Liepāja ESS', involves a €7 million contract signed in February.
The scope includes a 110 kV underground cable to the Grobiņa substation, a 110/33 kV transformer, and essential infrastructure. The system will utilize Tesla Megapack technology. A time capsule was recently placed in the foundations, symbolizing project progress. Collaboration includes SIA 'Elnetworks' and SIA 'Firma L4', marking a significant step in Latvia's energy storage capabilities, which may influence future energy projects in the country.
