$120M West Lynn Sewer Separation Project Completed
The West Lynn Sewer Separation Project, with a $120 million investment, has been completed to enhance wastewater management and water quality. This initiative is crucial for the modernization of Lynn’s infrastructure and compliance with regulatory mandates.

The West Lynn Sewer Separation Project has been completed, investing $120 million to separate approximately 260 acres of combined sewer area. The project involved over 26,000 linear feet of new storm drain infrastructure and a 90-million-gallon-per-day stormwater pump station.
It was initiated following the Third Modified Consent Decree and aimed to reduce combined sewer overflows and improve resilience during severe weather. Significant challenges included trenchless construction beneath Route 1A and coordination with various regulatory agencies. Moving forward, the Lynn Water & Sewer Commission will focus on subsequent phases of CSO projects, utilizing insights gained from this phase to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
