$13M Sewer Access Project Initiates Road Closures in Pierce County
The Woodland Pump Station and Temporary Force Main project in Pierce County will lead to significant road closures this week as paving operations commence. This initiative aims to enhance sewer access for 30 acres of unsewered properties.

Road closures will affect Woodland Avenue East, 112th Street East, and 66th Avenue East from Tuesday to Friday during daytime hours due to final paving work. The Woodland Pump Station and Temporary Force Main project, costing approximately $13.5 million, includes installing a new sanitary sewer pump station and 7,500 feet of gravity sewer pipe.
The new pump station will connect via a 4,200-foot-long force main to the existing sewer system after project completion. Detours will guide traffic around closed sections, with flaggers present for pedestrian safety. Continued monitoring of project progress will be provided as work advances beyond paving.
