£5M Funding for Advanced Manufacturing Technology Development in Scotland

INDUSTRIAL IOT

The UK Government announced £5 million in funding to enhance technology development for marine and advanced manufacturing sectors at the Arrol Gibb Innovation Campus, which operates both virtually and at Rosyth Docks in Fife. This funding is part of the Defence Growth Deal and builds on £25 million previously allocated to the Forth Green Freeport to support the reindustrialisation of Edinburgh, Fife, and Falkirk.

The AGIC, launched in 2022, unites industry, academia, and government to drive innovation and automation in these sectors. Key facilities include the University of Edinburgh's FastBlade, a test facility for lightweight composite structures. The initiative aims to enhance skills and create high-quality jobs in the maritime and renewable energy sectors.
