According to the Osservatorio Intelligent Business Process Automation of Politecnico di Milano, 62% of large Italian companies are utilizing process automation technologies, with 58% allocating an annual budget of €200-250,000 for automation projects by 2025. However, only 15% of SMEs are adopting these technologies, despite 22% of their working time spent on repetitive tasks. The study highlights a growing interest in advanced automation solutions, with 8% of large firms experimenting with Agentic Automation. The research underscores a significant gap in automation adoption between large enterprises and SMEs.

The study indicates that 8% of large companies are experimenting with advanced Agentic Automation, with 25% intending to do so soon. The research was presented at a conference focusing on digital transformation in Europe.
