The Osservatorio Intelligent Business Process Automation at Politecnico di Milano reports that 62% of large Italian companies are using process automation technologies. By 2025, 58% plan to allocate a budget of €200-250,000 for automation projects, particularly integrating AI capabilities.
While 30% of large firms use intelligent automation solutions, only 8% have widespread adoption. In contrast, only 15% of SMEs utilize process automation, despite 22% of their work hours spent on repetitive tasks.
The study indicates that 8% of large companies are experimenting with advanced Agentic Automation, with 25% intending to do so soon. The research was presented at a conference focusing on digital transformation in Europe.
