Aaka Space Launches Underwater Habitat Programme for Astronaut Training
Aaka Space plans India's first underwater human spaceflight analogue mission and hyperbaric habitat by late 2026. This initiative is crucial for preparing astronauts for lunar and deep-space missions, addressing the psychological and operational challenges faced in confined environments.

Aaka Space is set to establish an underwater habitat programme in India by late 2026, aimed at simulating conditions of space missions for astronaut training. The facility will operate in a controlled aquatic environment, facilitating research on microgravity simulation, habitat systems, and crew performance.
This development is significant in the context of India's Gaganyaan mission and the proposed Bhartiya Antriksh Station. Concurrently, Agnikul Cosmos has successfully test fired four semi cryogenic rocket engines, marking a milestone for India's private space sector.
The engines will power the Agnikul 'Agnibaan' rocket, enhancing the country’s orbital capabilities. Additionally, Sweden's involvement in India's Shukrayaan mission to Venus, which is scheduled for 2028, showcases international collaboration in planetary exploration.
