ABB Acquires Høglund to Enhance Maritime Automation Portfolio
ABB's acquisition of Høglund aims to expand its maritime automation solutions and support growth across various ship segments, expected to complete by Q3 2026. This strategic move will integrate Høglund's global operations into ABB's Marine & Ports division, leveraging existing technologies for enhanced efficiency.

ABB is set to acquire Høglund, enhancing its automation offerings for the maritime industry. The transaction is anticipated to conclude in Q3 2026, pending regulatory approvals. Høglund operates with over 80 employees across Norway, Poland, Romania, and China, and is currently part of the Eitzen Group.
The Integrated Automation System (IAS) from Høglund, utilizing ABB's 800M controllers and S800 I/O systems, is designed for modern ships and is deployed on over 600 vessels globally. In 2025, Høglund reported revenues of nearly 30 million euros. Post-acquisition, Høglund's customers will gain access to ABB's extensive global support and service infrastructure, potentially leading to improved operational performance and safety.
