ABB and Syre Collaborate on Textile Recycling Plant in Vietnam
ABB and Syre have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore technologies for a textile-to-textile recycling facility in Vietnam, targeting industrial-scale polyester production. This partnership aims to enhance resource efficiency and contribute to a circular economy in the textile industry.

ABB and Syre's collaboration focuses on leveraging automation, electrification, and digital technologies to support the development of a textile-to-textile recycling plant in Vietnam with construction set for 2027. The proposed facility in Gia Lai province will recycle polyester from used textiles and industrial waste, reducing reliance on fossil materials and promoting sustainable practices in the textile sector.
The partnership will assess ABB’s technologies to optimize recycling processes and maintain product quality. This initiative represents a significant step in addressing waste in the fashion industry, as scalable recycling solutions become essential amidst growing regulatory and consumer pressures for sustainability.
