AECOM Joint Venture Selected for NYC's First Combined Sewer Overflow Storage Tunnel Project
Newtown Creek CSO Partners, a joint venture including AECOM, Parsons Corporation, and EPC Consultants Inc., has been selected by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection to provide construction supervision for the city's first combined sewer overflow (CSO) storage tunnel and pump station project. The initiative is part of NYCDEP's modernization effort to reduce combined sewer overflows to Newtown Creek, which is a Superfund site.
The project encompasses approximately 3.25 miles of tunnel and aims to provide up to 50 million gallons of storage capacity to mitigate CSO discharges. This investment is expected to enhance environmental infrastructure and community resilience in Brooklyn and Queens.
