Aehr Test Systems Receives Follow-On Order for Silicon Photonics Production System
Aehr Test Systems has secured a follow-on order for its FOX-XP multi-wafer production burn-in system, highlighting the industry's shift towards silicon photonics manufacturing. This development reflects a broader trend in AI infrastructure demanding higher bandwidth and energy-efficient solutions.

Aehr Test Systems has received a follow-on order from its lead customer for a fully automated FOX-XP multi-wafer production burn-in system, aimed at enhancing the manufacturing capacity for silicon photonic integrated circuits. The system features nine WaferPak test blades, each delivering up to 3,500 watts, and is set to ship in the first half of 2027.
The demand for silicon photonics is escalating as hyperscale data centers require advanced optical solutions, which necessitate improved reliability screening and reduced production costs. This trend is expected to drive significant growth in the silicon photonics market, particularly for applications like optical switching and chip-to-chip optical I/O. The industry's movement towards high-volume production underscores the importance of ensuring device reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
