Ahold Delhaize USA has broken ground on a new $860 million distribution center in Burlington, North Carolina, aimed at modernizing its supply chain and supporting long-term growth. The facility will provide over one million square feet of fresh and frozen distribution capacity for Food Lion and other brands, creating over 500 jobs.

Construction is led by the Tippmann Group and is expected to incorporate modern automation and sustainability features, with operations slated to begin in 2029. This will be Ahold Delhaize's fourth distribution center in North Carolina, enhancing its extensive grocery supply chain network.
