Airbus Secures $374 Million Contract for Canadian Air Force Maintenance
Airbus Defence and Space has secured a long-term maintenance contract worth 374 million CAD from the Canadian Defence Investment Agency for the new CC-330 Husky fleet. This contract contributes to Canada's defense spending goals, which aim to reach 2% of GDP by 2025 and 5% by 2035, enhancing Airbus's position as a primary supplier.

On March 30, 2026, the Canadian Defence Investment Agency awarded Airbus a long-term contract for 374 million CAD focused on the maintenance of the Royal Canadian Air Force's new CC-330 Husky fleet. This fleet will replace the outdated CC-150 Polaris aircraft and support refueling and strategic transport from 2027.
The contract includes engineering, repairs, overhauls, and material management throughout the fleet's lifecycle. Additionally, two contracts worth 1.5 billion CAD were awarded to L3Harris MAS Inc. for maintenance and material supply.
This initiative is part of a broader procurement program announced in 2023, which included an order for nine Husky aircraft valued at 3.6 billion CAD. The contracts could create up to 720 jobs in Quebec, Ontario, and Alberta, contributing approximately 90 million CAD annually to Canada's GDP. As Canada aims to meet NATO defense spending goals, Airbus's role as a preferred supplier is likely to provide a stable project base going forward.
