Aldi Proposes Extension of Edinburgh Store on Oxgangs Road North for Community Needs
Aldi Stores Ltd has submitted a planning application to extend its supermarket at 345 Oxgangs Road North, Edinburgh, on March 9. The proposal includes an additional 316sqm of floorspace, modifications to the car park, and the installation of sustainable equipment. The plans aim to better serve the community and enhance sustainability while losing nine parking spaces. The City of Edinburgh Council will review the application, which has not yet attracted public comments.

Aldi Stores Ltd has applied to extend its existing foodstore at 345 Oxgangs Road North, Edinburgh, by 316sqm. The project includes alterations to the car park, resulting in the loss of nine parking spaces, and the installation of new sustainable equipment, including Air Source Heat Pumps.
The extension aims to improve operational efficiency and support community needs. Additional features include a new customer entrance, upgraded landscaping, an electricity substation, InPost parcel lockers, and 10 new EV charging spaces. The City of Edinburgh Council's planning department will decide on the application, which has not received public comments.
