Algerian Robotics: Local Expertise and Ambitions for National Production
Algeria's industrial landscape is evolving, with local initiatives focused on integrating robotics into manufacturing. Soneltech Electric is addressing skill gaps through targeted training programs and aims to develop a fully domestic robotics industry.

Soneltech Electric, based in Birtouta, is spearheading efforts in Algeria to enhance robotics integration in the industrial sector. The company has been active in vocational training for 16 years, responding to a gap in practical skills for automation.
A recent initiative includes a 35-hour intensive course in industrial robotics, training participants in programming and technology use, with around 60 graduates to date. The company emphasizes the need for substantial R&D investment, supported by both the state and private sectors, to achieve local robot manufacturing. While currently reliant on international robotic technologies, there is optimism about the capabilities of young Algerian engineers and the potential for future advancements.
