ALM Engineering Enhances Production with Brother Speedio VMC Installation
ALM Engineering Solutions has installed a Brother Speedio W1000Xd2 VMC to boost capacity and automation. This investment aims to improve production flexibility and efficiency, supporting a near 50% increase in overall capacity over two years.

ALM Engineering Solutions has enhanced its production capabilities by installing a Brother Speedio W1000Xd2 vertical machining centre at its Newton Aycliffe facility, with integration completed by Whitehouse Machine Tools. The addition of this machine, equipped with a 1m table, has allowed ALM to handle larger components, significantly increasing throughput and overall production capacity by nearly 50% in two years.
Coupled with in-house developed collaborative robots (cobots), the machine supports flexible, automated operations, enabling a shift from two-shift patterns to continuous production. The machine's performance, featuring high-speed capabilities and precision, positions ALM competitively in the subcontract market.
Automation allows for rapid response to fluctuating demand without increasing headcount, showcasing a strategic advantage for SMEs in manufacturing. ALM will demonstrate its automated solutions at MACH 2026.
