AMD Launches Kintex UltraScale+ Gen 2 FPGAs for Data-Intensive Applications
INDUSTRIAL IOT
AMD has launched the Kintex UltraScale+ Gen 2 FPGAs, targeting data-intensive workloads in imaging, industrial automation, and 4K/8K media applications. The new FPGA family offers updates in memory, I/O, and security, featuring high-speed transceivers and PCIe Gen4 to enhance performance.
Key improvements include up to five times higher memory bandwidth and greater channel density per PCIe interface. The devices incorporate security features for long-term deployment, with availability planned through at least 2045. Development support will be provided via AMD Vivado and Vitis tools, with simulation support set for Q3 2026.
