Amerindian communities in Guyana are benefiting from the government's Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS) Carbon Credits Funds, which support community projects, job creation, and eco-tourism. In Waramuri, Region One, a newly constructed guest house is set to provide stable employment for residents.

Minister of Amerindian Affairs, Sarah Shadeek-Browne, emphasized that this project will generate income and create further opportunities. She noted that the LCDS currently benefits 248 Amerindian villages and expressed commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in community leadership. Shadeek-Browne stated that the prosperity of Guyana is intertwined with the success of Amerindian villages and Indigenous youth, highlighting the importance of cultural respect in development efforts.
