APTransco Launches AI Internship Program to Enhance Grid Modernization
The Andhra Pradesh Transmission Corporation (APTransco) is initiating a Summer Internship Programme 2026 for students from IITs and other institutions, focusing on AI-driven projects to modernize the power grid. Interns will work directly on deployment-ready solutions with stipends up to ₹25,000, aiming to build a skilled talent pipeline in the power sector.

APTransco is launching a Summer Internship Programme 2026, recruiting 30 interns initially to tackle real-world challenges in power transmission. The program emphasizes hands-on experience with a focus on AI-based tools for renewable forecasting, cybersecurity, and automation.
Participants will work under senior mentors to develop solutions that can be directly applied within utility operations. The initiative marks a shift towards a data-centric grid and aims to foster a long-term talent pipeline in the power sector, potentially allowing top interns to engage in extended projects with state power utilities. This approach could enhance efficiencies and manage the increasing load from renewable energy.
