Arbor Energy Secures $1 Billion Order for 5 GW of 3D-Printed Turbines from GridMarket
Arbor Energy announced a billion-dollar deal to supply GridMarket with up to 5 gigawatts of modular, 3D-printed turbines. The Halcyon turbines, based on rocket turbomachinery, will generate 25 megawatts each. The first unit is expected to connect to the grid in 2028, with production ramping up to over 100 units annually by 2030. While initially designed for biomass, the turbines can also operate on natural gas, aiming for significant CO reduction compared to traditional natural gas plants.

Arbor Energy has secured a billion-dollar deal to deliver up to 5 gigawatts of its Halcyon modular turbines to GridMarket. Each turbine, capable of generating 25 megawatts, will leverage rocket turbomachinery technology and will be 3D printed.
If fully executed, the order entails 200 units. The first turbine is slated to connect to the grid in 2028, with production expected to exceed 100 units annually by 2030, targeting 10 gigawatts of new capacity per year. Initially designed for biomass, the turbines can also utilize natural gas, which may not be carbon negative but aims for lower emissions compared to conventional natural gas plants.
