Arizona Space Commission Relaunches to Boost Space Industry Growth
The Arizona Space Commission aims to enhance the state's role in the $600 billion space industry, with strategic plans set for presentation to the Legislature by year-end. The commission, consisting of 13 members, is focused on leveraging Arizona’s existing resources to position itself as a leading state in the space sector.

The Arizona Space Commission, reestablished in 2022 after its dissolution in 2014, is working to solidify Arizona's position in the space industry, which is projected to reach a trillion-dollar valuation. Comprising 13 members, the commission is developing a strategic plan to present to the Arizona Legislature by the end of this year, with aspirations for Arizona to become a premier space state within 15 to 20 years.
The state's existing workforce, supply chain, land, and regulatory environment are viewed as key assets. Additionally, legislation has been enacted to create a dedicated license plate, contributing funds to the aerospace sector. The commission sees the need to organize Arizona's space ecosystem to compete with established states like Texas and Florida.
