Aspect Aerospace Secures $2.4M for VLEO Satellite Development
Aspect Aerospace has raised $2.4 million, including a $1.9 million grant from the U.S. Space Force, to develop swarm-deployable Single-Board Satellites (SBS) for monitoring space weather in very low Earth orbit (VLEO). This funding accelerates the creation of a prototype aimed at enhancing plasma measurement capabilities, which is crucial for satellite operations and communications.

Aspect Aerospace has secured $2.4 million to advance its Single-Board Satellite (SBS) technology, which integrates sensing and communication systems on a compact circuit board. The funding comprises a $1.9 million grant from the U.S.
Space Force and a $500,000 investment from SOSV. Aspect's SBS units are designed for swarm deployment in VLEO to provide high-resolution plasma data, improving space weather monitoring and communication link optimization.
The company aims to launch its first operational SBS by early 2027, enhancing satellite operational reliability. This innovative approach could revolutionize space environmental monitoring and offers potential partnerships for expanding sensor capabilities.
