Assam CM Inaugurates New Madhabdev University Campus, Highlights Technological Impact on Education
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the new Madhabdev University campus in Lakhimpur, emphasizing the role of technology in education and society. The campus, built at a cost of Rs 57 crore, aims to promote academic innovation, with Sarma announcing a Rs 75 crore grant for further development and plans to expand the campus. Since 2016, 25 new universities have been established in Assam, reflecting the government's commitment to enhancing educational access beyond urban areas.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized the transformative power of mobile communication in reshaping global thinking and society during his visit to Lakhimpur. He inaugurated the new campus of Madhabdev University, built on 55 bighas of land at a cost of Rs 57 crore, featuring essential academic and residential facilities.
Sarma stated that the establishment of new universities aims to foster an academic renaissance in Assam and urged institutions to focus on innovation and align with emerging technologies like AI and quantum computing. He announced a Rs 75 crore grant for further infrastructure development and advised expanding the current 120-bigha campus by acquiring an additional 180 bighas. Sarma noted that 25 universities have been initiated since 2016, reflecting the government's commitment to enhancing education beyond major urban centers.
