Associated Wholesale Grocers Invests $110M to Modernize Gulf Coast Distribution Center in Louisiana
Associated Wholesale Grocers (AWG) is investing $110 million to modernize its distribution facility in Pearl River, Louisiana. The project will enhance automation, improving order accuracy and service reliability. Scheduled for construction from January to November 2027, the facility upgrades will support the retention of 334 jobs and bolster operations within the Southeast market. Louisiana is providing a $500,000 performance-based grant to assist in the modernization efforts.

Construction is set to begin in January 2027 and conclude in November 2027, with automation systems installation planned for April 2027.
This project will retain 334 jobs and is supported by a $500,000 performance-based grant from the state. AWG's enhancements will also enable operations during severe weather and advance their logistics capabilities in the Southeast market.
