Atlas Copco Supplies H7+ Light Towers to Mpumalanga Coal Mine for Enhanced Safety and Efficiency
In early February 2026, Airlif Compressors and Pumps delivered three Atlas Copco H7+ light towers to a coal mine in Mpumalanga. The H7+ features automated operation, energy-efficient LED technology, and reduced maintenance needs, improving safety and reducing operational costs. This delivery follows the mine's previous use of H6+ towers and enhances lighting coverage while decreasing fuel consumption and emissions. Three Atlas Copco H7+ light towers were supplied by Airlif Compressors and Pumps to a coal mine in Mpumalanga in February 2026. The H7+ offers automated operation with a photocell for dusk-to-dawn functionality and increased lighting coverage of over 7,000 m², surpassing the earlier H6+ model.
Fuel efficiency is enhanced with a reduction of up to 40% in consumption and CO₂ emissions. Airlif has supported the mining community since 1997 and provides modifications to meet specific mining standards.
