Atmos Space Cargo Expands to Poland, Focuses on Reusable Spacecraft
Atmos Space Cargo, a German startup, is establishing a new office in Poland to enhance defense capabilities in space. The company aims to advance its reusable spacecraft technology, which is crucial for military applications and research, as it prepares for multiple launches in the coming years.

Atmos Space Cargo is opening an office in Poland to strengthen its focus on defense capabilities, as announced by CEO Sebastian Klaus. The company, which specializes in reusable spacecraft, has raised approximately $20 million and plans to launch its second capsule, PHOENIX 2, in 2027.
Klaus noted that the company is developing technologies that could support military operations within two to three years, contingent on political decisions. Atmos utilizes inflatable decelerators for payload protection during re-entry, a technology derived from NASA. They recently formed a partnership with Voyager for integration and customer referrals, while emphasizing the necessity for independent European space solutions amidst geopolitical tensions.
