Australia Launches Draft Consultation for Integrated Farm and Land Management Carbon Credit Method
Australia has initiated a draft consultation for the Integrated Farm and Land Management (IFLM) carbon credit method, set to open on January 27, 2026. This innovative approach, the first under the Australian Carbon Credit Unit Scheme to allow multiple carbon-storing activities on the same property, enables landholders to earn credits by regenerating and growing native forests. The consultation will last 28 days, and feedback will shape the final method and compliance assessments.

The draft Integrated Farm and Land Management (IFLM) consultation documents will be available for preview before the consultation opens on 27 January 2026. This method, the first under the Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) Scheme to allow multiple carbon-storing activities on the same property, enables landholders to earn carbon credits through regenerating previously cleared native forests and growing new native forests.
It offers two approaches for estimating carbon using the Full Carbon Accounting Model (FullCAM), including a hybrid method that combines modeled estimates with actual measurements. The modular design allows for the addition of more activities and technologies over time. The consultation lasts for 28 days, and feedback will inform the final method and the Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee's (ERAC) compliance assessment with the Offsets Integrity Standards (OIS).
