Aviva Investors and Climate Impact Partners Fund Colombian Afforestation Project
Aviva Investors has partnered with Climate Impact Partners to finance an afforestation project in Colombia, targeting carbon sequestration and community benefits. The initiative aims to restore 13,600 hectares of degraded land, significantly contributing to biodiversity and local employment.

Aviva Investors is funding a large-scale afforestation project in Colombia's Vichada region, encompassing 13,600 hectares of degraded grassland, with the potential to sequester over six million tonnes of carbon. This project will generate high-quality carbon credits and create over 110 local jobs during peak planting seasons.
Managed by Climate Impact Partners and implemented by &Forest, the project aims to establish a forest that strengthens biodiversity and community livelihoods. It will be registered under Verra's afforestation methodology, ensuring integrity in carbon credit generation. This investment highlights a growing trend of institutional investors seeking climate-aligned strategies that yield both environmental and economic returns.
