AWG Projects 16% Foodservice Sales Growth and $110M Automation Investment for 2026
Associated Wholesale Grocers (AWG) anticipates significant expansion in foodservice offerings, including sushi and fresh sandwiches, alongside a $110 million investment in automation. This strategic growth plan follows a 16% year-over-year increase in foodservice sales in 2025, contributing to overall sales of approximately $12.2 billion.

In 2026, AWG plans to enhance its foodservice initiatives with new offerings such as sushi and fresh sandwiches, building on a 16% sales increase in 2025 to approximately $12.2 billion. The cooperative wholesaler will invest $110 million to automate its Gulf Coast Division Support Center, with construction starting in January 2027 and operations projected to commence by November 2027.
AWG's net income rose by 1.87% to $300.76 million, aided by the addition of 248 new member stores. The company aims to maintain competitive pricing on produce, expand private labels, and target specific meat categories for growth in 2026. The planned automation is expected to enhance order accuracy and service reliability, thereby impacting overall operational efficiency.
