Axis Completes 100th Air Source Heat Pump Installation in UK Housing Sector
Axis has achieved its 100th air source heat pump installation, enhancing low-carbon social housing in the UK. This milestone supports the transition towards net zero targets and contributes to significant reductions in carbon emissions.

Axis has completed its 100th air source heat pump (ASHP) installation at an Eastlight Community Homes property in Colchester, replacing an outdated oil boiler. The installation operates at an efficiency of 4.0, delivering four units of heat for each unit of electricity used, and captures nearly 972 kWh of renewable energy, reducing carbon emissions by up to 85%.
This initiative aligns with the UK's decarbonisation goals for social housing, where many properties still depend on gas and oil heating. Axis is expanding its capabilities in renewable heating technologies, including ground source heat pumps, to meet the growing demand for low-carbon solutions in social housing. The increasing retrofit demand highlights the need for experienced partners in this transition.
