Banelec Secures £500,000 Aerospace Contract for Lifting System
Banelec has successfully executed a £500,000 contract for a global aerospace OEM, focusing on enhancing safety in aircraft component handling. This project exemplifies the integration of automation technology to mitigate risks associated with manual handling in manufacturing environments.

Banelec, based in Brierley Hill, has completed a £500,000 contract for a leading global aerospace OEM. The project entailed designing a fan case lifting system aimed at minimizing manual handling risks and repetitive strain injuries during the movement of large aircraft engine components.
The solution features three electric-powered jacks, each with a control panel, allowing for precision lifting, lowering, and rotation of fan case units. A radio control system facilitates remote operation.
The installation was integrated into the existing production process with minimal disruption, undergoing extensive testing for capacity and reliability. This project highlights the potential for automation to enhance safety and efficiency in manufacturing processes.
