Basata Secures $21M to Enhance AI-Driven Medical Referral Automation
Basata has raised $21 million to enhance AI capabilities for automating medical referrals and scheduling, addressing inefficiencies in healthcare administration. The funding aims to improve operational workflows in specialty care practices, reducing referral outreach times significantly.
Basata, a Phoenix-based healthcare AI startup, has completed a $21 million Series A funding round, aimed at automating administrative tasks such as referral processing and patient scheduling. The funding round, led by Basis Set Ventures with participation from Cowboy Ventures, PHX Ventures, and others, brings total funding to $24.5 million.
The platform decreases the time from referral receipt to patient outreach from weeks to minutes, enhancing administrative capacity by about 50%. Notably, customers like Southwest Cardiovascular Associates have reported an 18% increase in new patient conversions due to improved outreach speed. The company plans to utilize the new funds to further develop its platform, targeting the operational layer of healthcare, which remains burdened by outdated systems and manual processes.
