BCR and EBRD Fund Romania's First Fully Automated Cold-Storage Facility by NewCold
Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) is providing RON 182.8 million to NewCold Romania SRL for Romania's first fully automated cold-storage facility, co-financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The project aims to modernize Romania's logistics infrastructure with advanced automation and energy efficiency, significantly reducing energy intensity and greenhouse gas emissions. The facility will be located in Stefanestii de Jos, Ilfov County.

Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) is financing NewCold Romania SRL with RON 182.8 million for the development of Romania's first fully automated cold-storage facility, co-financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) with an equal amount. The total funding for the project's first two phases and future expansion is RON 695.6 million.
The facility in Stefanestii de Jos, Ilfov County, will utilize advanced automation to reduce energy intensity by approximately 50% compared to conventional warehouses. It is expected to enhance Romania's logistics infrastructure and support the local food industry.
