Bhubaneswar Enforces Fuel Sale Limits to Combat Black Marketing
Bhubaneswar has implemented restrictions on petrol and diesel sales, capping purchases at 50 litres and 500 litres respectively. This measure aims to prevent black marketing and hoarding amid discrepancies in pricing between industrial and commercial diesel.

Bhubaneswar authorities have mandated that petrol sales be limited to 50 litres and high-speed diesel to 500 litres per transaction. The directive aims to combat black marketing, as current industrial diesel prices exceed commercial rates by Rs 22 per litre, prompting bulk purchases.
Non-compliance by petrol pump operators may lead to suspension of fuel supply. While the limits are set to align with standard vehicle needs, exceptions exist for vehicles with larger tanks, allowing additional fuel upon proof of capacity. This regulation is not indicative of a fuel shortage but is intended to ensure proper sales management.
