Bihar's government has received 747 investment proposals totaling Rs17,217 crore for the fiscal year 2025-26, with a long-term goal of attracting Rs50 lakh crore in investments to create 1 crore jobs. Plans include developing an electronic city near Sonepur, establishing a semiconductor unit, and creating an integrated manufacturing township on 1,670 acres near Gaya, part of the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor.
A total of 13,343 acres have been approved for industrial projects across 24 districts. Major companies such as Reliance and Adani are investing, while 242 women-driven startups have been approved. The government has disbursed Rs3,242 crore under various assistance programs. Initiatives like the Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Policy 2025 aim to position Bihar as an industrial hub in eastern India.
