Bosnian-Croat Region Amends Gas Interconnector Law with Croatia for US LNG Supplies
The Bosnian-Croat region's assembly has amended a gas interconnector law, facilitating US LNG supplies via Croatia. This change follows a compromise brokered by the US government, designating AAFS Infrastructure and Energy as the investor for the project.

On April 15, the Bosnian-Croat region's assembly approved amendments to the gas interconnector law with Croatia, enabling future agreements for US liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies from the Krk terminal. The amendments designate the American company AAFS Infrastructure and Energy as the project investor, excluding the local company BH-Gas amid previous disputes between Croatian and Bosniak parties.
Following a 30-year management contract for the pipeline, the company is responsible for compensating affected property owners and securing financing. A concession agreement is expected within 30 days of the law's enactment, alongside a bilateral agreement between Bosnia and Croatia anticipated for signing later this month.
