The Municipality of Brockton and Edificio announced progress on a new development at 2 Ontario Road in Walkerton, including a 3,900 sq. ft. McDonald's and a 2,000 sq. ft. Shell convenience store with a four-pump gas bar.

The project, valued at $3.85 million, aims to improve access to essential services and support economic growth, with completion targeted for late summer 2026. Current construction is in the excavation phase, with all necessary permits secured.

The development is expected to create about 15 jobs and support local trades. It will address service gaps in the area by combining food, retail, and fuel services.
