Butere Sub-county Launches Water Treatment Facility Construction
A new water treatment facility in Butere Sub-county aims to improve access to safe drinking water for thousands of residents. The project is expected to be completed within six months and includes a solar-powered pumping system.

The construction of the Firatsi Compact Filtration Unit (CFU) in Butere Sub-county is underway, targeting reliable access to clean drinking water for households and public institutions. This initiative, part of the county government's broader infrastructure enhancement, will utilize water from a nearby river, treat it, and distribute it via an elevated steel tank.
The project will also feature a solar-powered pumping system to reduce operational costs and promote sustainability. Additionally, plans are in place to extend water connectivity to Ikalikha Dispensary, improving water access for health services in the area. Potential challenges include ensuring timely completion and maintenance of the facility for long-term benefits.
