Canada Invests $195 Million in Xanadu for Quantum Manufacturing Facility
The Government of Canada is investing $195 million in Xanadu Quantum Technologies to establish a large-scale photonics manufacturing facility. This investment, the largest in Canadian quantum manufacturing history, aims to bolster the domestic supply chain and foster economic growth in advanced technologies.

The Canadian federal government has committed $195 million to Xanadu Quantum Technologies to support the establishment of its new 158,000-square-foot facility, Inception, in Toronto. This funding, administered through the Strategic Response Fund, aims to enhance Canada's capabilities in quantum manufacturing and technology, with a focus on producing photonic components for quantum data centers.
Completion of the facility's first phase is expected by mid-2027, with full operations planned by 2030. The investment addresses the urgent need for specialized manufacturing capabilities in a competitive global market, as similar investments are being made by U.S. states to attract quantum technology firms.
