Canada Launches Multiple Funding Programs for Clean Technology Development
The Government of Canada is implementing several funding programs to bolster the research and development of clean technologies, encouraging businesses to innovate for a greener economy. Key programs include the Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP), which can cover up to 80% of internal technical labor costs for R&D projects; Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (SCAP), with a budget of $3.5 billion for sustainable initiatives in agriculture; and Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC), offering $2 million to $4 million in funding for environmental technology projects.
Other programs focus on carbon capture and clean energy production, including significant tax credits for clean technology investments. The government aims to position Canada as a leader in the cleantech sector and achieve its climate targets.
