The Canadian government is providing a C$195 million ($140.78 million) loan to Xanadu Quantum for a manufacturing facility in Toronto. This investment represents Canada's largest support for quantum technology and aims to enhance domestic production capabilities and job creation in the sector.

The Canadian federal government has approved a C$195 million ($140.78 million) loan to Xanadu Quantum Technologies for establishing a photonic components manufacturing facility in Toronto. This funding, forming the federal share of a potential C$390 million package, is expected to generate up to 275 jobs.
The company plans to finalize an agreement for the remaining C$195 million from Ontario's provincial government shortly. Founded in 2016, Xanadu is focused on developing quantum computers utilizing photonics, a technology designed to operate at room temperature.
This initiative aligns with global trends where nations are increasing investments in quantum computing, a field seen as crucial for future technological advancements and economic competitiveness. Building the Toronto facility may enhance Xanadu's production capabilities and strengthen Canada's role in the quantum economy.
