Carbon Business Council Launches Direct Storage of Biomass Coalition to Enhance Carbon Removal Strategies
The Carbon Business Council has launched the Direct Storage of Biomass Coalition to promote direct biomass storage as a carbon removal pathway. The coalition includes various companies and experts collaborating on technology and policy to store organic material such as agricultural residues and waste wood. The initiative aims to durably lock carbon out of the atmosphere while supporting local economies and land stewardship through shared standards and community engagement.

The Carbon Business Council has established the Direct Storage of Biomass (DSB) Coalition to advance direct biomass storage for carbon dioxide removal. This method entails storing organic materials like agricultural residues and waste wood to lock carbon away.
The coalition, chaired by Keith Driver, includes members such as Blue Forest, Carba, and Nature Focus, working together to improve understanding and support for carbon credit buyers and policymakers. DSB projects can enhance land management, reduce wildfire risks, and create economic opportunities, emphasizing community engagement and environmental safeguards.
