Carlisle Road Pump Station Design Contract Approved by Select Board
The Select Board of Bedford approved a design contract for the Carlisle Road pump station, totaling $359,250, funded by developer Brian DeVellis. This project is part of a $3.2 million overall redevelopment initiative aimed at upgrading local sewage infrastructure.

On April 6, the Select Board unanimously approved a $359,250 contract with Weston & Sampson Engineers, Inc. for the design and study of the Carlisle Road pump station's infrastructure. The funding is provided by developer Brian DeVellis, as the town will access its own allocated funds starting July 1.
The contract includes comprehensive services such as environmental permitting and construction cost estimation, with an expiration date of May 31, 2027. It is expected that design work will be completed by fall 2026, contributing to an 18-month project timeline.
The total project cost, including upgrades to both the Carlisle Road and Pollard Inn pump stations, is estimated at $3.2 million, with 50% funded by capital approval and the remainder by DeVellis. The existing Pollard Inn infrastructure is insufficient for the anticipated flow from the new housing development.
