Cavan Monaghan Secures $2.46M Grant for Water Infrastructure Upgrade
Cavan Monaghan receives a $2,463,750 grant to enhance water infrastructure, part of a broader $4 billion provincial initiative. This funding aims to support safe drinking water access, housing, and community resilience amid extreme weather conditions.

The Township of Cavan Monaghan has been awarded a grant of up to $2,463,750 from the provincial Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program's Health and Safety Water Stream. The funding, part of a $4 billion investment in Ontario's infrastructure, will upgrade the Tupper Street Sewage Pumping Station, enhancing public health and service reliability.
This initiative is aligned with a broader $875 million increase aimed at ensuring access to safe drinking water and supporting housing and job creation. The grant, approved last November, was included in the 2026 Water and Waste Water Capital Budget. The investment addresses critical infrastructure needs, supporting community growth and resilience against climate challenges.
