CERT Systems Wins Tencent's CarbonX 2.0 Initiative for CO2-to-Ethylene Technology
CERT Systems is selected as a winner in Tencent's CarbonX 2.0 initiative, receiving funding to advance its CO2-to-ethylene technology. This recognition highlights its role in decarbonizing ethylene production, essential for reducing carbon emissions in the chemical sector.

CERT Systems has been named one of 16 winners in Tencent's CarbonX 2.0 initiative, the only Canadian representative among 660 applications from 54 countries. As part of the Carbon Utilization stream, it will receive a share of nearly US$30 million in funding aimed at scaling climate solutions from pilot to commercial deployment.
The company addresses the decarbonization of ethylene production through its Direct CO Electrolysis technology, which converts captured CO emissions into sustainable ethylene without fossil fuels. Participation in the CarbonX 2.0 program will provide CERT Systems with vital resources and networks necessary for commercial validation. This initiative emphasizes the importance of carbon utilization technologies in achieving a circular carbon economy.
