Ceva Logistics Launches Maritime Battery Transport Service for Recycling in Europe
Ceva Logistics has introduced a new maritime transport service for used lithium-ion batteries from island regions to the European mainland, utilizing CMA CGM's shipping routes. The service features five specially adapted containers with a total capacity of 30 tonnes, allowing for the transport of all types of used batteries. This initiative aims to enhance the circular economy for battery recycling, aligning with Ceva's existing logistics and recycling operations across Europe.

Ceva Logistics has launched a maritime transport service for used lithium-ion batteries, initially available on CMA CGM's routes. The service employs five adapted containers with a total capacity of 30 tonnes, allowing transport of all types of used batteries.
Each shipping container can hold four vaults, with a capacity of six tons each. Ceva aims to strengthen its circular value chain for batteries, managing collection, handling, and storage at battery logistics centers. The company plans to deploy up to 15 centers across ten European countries, including Germany, to facilitate the recycling process.
