Cha-am Municipality Installs Pumps to Address Water Shortage Caused by Irrigation Canal Construction
FLOW CONTROL
Cha-am Municipality is tackling a water shortage due to construction by the Royal Irrigation Department that disrupted raw water flow for tap water production. The project aimed to improve flood management but negatively impacted water supply.
On March 3, municipal officials inspected the area, deploying an excavator to widen the irrigation channel and installing a large pump near Ban Nong Yao village. An 800-metre pipeline was laid to transfer water to the municipal reservoir.
Emergency water deliveries began on March 2, with approximately 486,000 litres provided to 201 households. Efforts to restore normal water supply are ongoing.
