Charlestown's new Water Treatment Facility, designed by JTL Prime and built by Pace Contracting, can process 4 million gallons per day, with potential expansion to 8 MGD. The facility's construction, located at 299 Charlestown Landing Road, took over two years and cost nearly $40 million, funded significantly by various grants.
The facility incorporates advanced treatment technologies and a SCADA system for remote monitoring. It replaces a previous inadequate facility and features enhanced administrative and laboratory spaces. This upgrade addresses existing utility needs and supports future growth for residential and commercial developments in the city.
