China Launches Human-Robot Home Cleaning Service
A new cleaning service combining human workers and robots was launched in March 2026 by X Square Robot in Shenzhen. This development is significant as it addresses labor shortages while enhancing domestic cleaning efficiency through automation.

In March 2026, X Square Robot introduced a home cleaning service in Shenzhen, incorporating robots to assist human cleaners. For 149 yuan per three-hour session, robots perform basic tasks like trash collection, while humans focus on detailed cleaning.
Initial trials revealed that robots can accurately identify and collect waste but struggle with tight spaces and complex tasks. The service has expanded to Beijing and aims for 1,000 units by 2026. The Chinese robotics market is projected to grow from $47 billion in 2024 to $108 billion by 2028, driven by advancements in AI and automation in household tasks. The shift in job roles may lead to more emphasis on human adaptability and interaction.
