China's DaxAI Robotics Unveils Qiji Quadruped Robot Ahead of Japan's Kawasaki Corleo
DaxAI Robotics has presented the Qiji, a four-legged robot capable of reaching 40 km/h, with series production expected in 2026. This development positions China ahead in the race for quadrupedal vehicles, contrasting with Kawasaki's Corleo, which is projected for 2030 and aims for 100 km/h.

DaxAI Robotics has developed the Qiji, a four-legged robotic vehicle that can be operated like a motorcycle and achieve speeds of up to 40 km/h. The vehicle, which weighs around 320 kg and can transport up to 300 kg, utilizes articulated legs powered by electric motors, generating 1,400 Nm of torque.
Series production is expected to begin in 2026, with the Qiji XS variant incorporating retractable wheels. In contrast, Kawasaki's Corleo, a hydrogen-powered concept, is not expected to enter production until the 2030s.
While the Qiji offers less speed than the Corleo's potential 100 km/h, it presents practical applications for difficult terrains and rescue operations. The Qiji XS claims a range of up to 100 km on a single charge, although battery capacity details remain undisclosed.
